Litigation Legal Assistant/Paralegal Medical Malpractice Defense Responsibilities: Draft and proofread correspondence and legal documents, such as pleadings and contracts. Assist with preparation of reports and case files. Communicate with clients and witnesses to schedule meetings, interviews, and depositions. Coordinate and schedule calendars. Order and process medical records. Manage, organize, and maintain documents in paper and electronic filing systems. Locate, collect, and organize evidence, case relevant information and other legal documents for attorney review and case preparation. Provide general administrative assistance, such as maintaining the attorney's calendar and making travel arrangements.
Qualifications: Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in legal/paralegal studies preferred. Must have 2 years experience as a legal assistant, legal secretary, or paralegal. Minimum of 2 years litigation experience. Detailed knowledge of Court Rules, Legal Procedures and Protocols. Knowledge of electronic filing systems (MiFile, TrueFiling and CM/ECF). Highly detail-oriented and highly organized. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and professional demeanor. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point. Ability to work independently, self-starter, manage large workloads, and keep deadlines. Ability to work as a part of a team. Ability to work overtime on as needed basis.
