Legal Secretary-Asbestos Litigation Candidate's responsibilities will include assisting attorneys with preparation of motions, discovery and trial documents; updating and maintaining electronic client files in a timely manner: Review of calendar for accuracy and upcoming deadlines; fluency in Lexis FileandServe, Westlaw, Pacer, ECF, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, DropBox, CompuLaw, and Excel. Assist with trials. Will: Prepare shells for attorneys in the preparation for all motions, discovery and trial documents. Must have experience proofreading, formatting briefs, pleadings, correspondence, and other legal documents, including producing TOC/TOA. Filing of legal documents with state and federal courts (e-filing, Lexis FileandServe fluency is a must). Updating and maintaining electronic client files in a timely manner. Review legal calendar for accuracy and upcoming deadlines. Consistently and accurately send legal dates to calendaring clerk for entry into CompuLaw. Answer phone calls, take notes/messages and redirect calls when appropriate. Prioritize and execute attorney assigned tasks quickly and accurately, while being organized and detailed oriented. Qualifications: High school diploma required (college degree is preferred). 3 years' litigation experience. Asbestos experience is required. Knowledge of MS Office and the ability to work with legal technology (court-filing computer systems, transcription software, etc.). Proficiency in English. Outstanding time-management and typing skills. Ability to multitask and feel comfortable dealing with a diverse pool of people. Skills and Abilities: File & Serve Express, Westlaw, Pacer, ECF, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, DropBox, CompuLaw and Excel- Must possess excellent time management, verbal, and written communication skills. Facilitate the meeting of deadlines by keeping multiple agendas and provide timely. Provide administrative support to one or more lawyers. Effectively communicate with witnesses, clients, colleagues, and partners.
