Paralegal Responsibilities : The candidate will work with the web-based practice management system for client-related calendaring, tasks, documents and time entries to ensure that matters are progressing quickly and efficiently; draft employment-related documents; proofreading, preparing and amending documentation; analyze records (including medical) and other evidence; perform research through Westlaw and/or other research materials; liaising with clients, where appropriate, on the progress of their matter; and maintain accurate time records. Requirements : The candidate should have a minimum 2 years of experience. Must have paralegal certificate and be up-to-date with CLE. Spanish-speaking a plus. Must be a fast-learner, self-starting, proactive, flexible, and a team player. Must be able to type a minimum of 55 wpm. Work well under pressure. Excellent attention to detail. Sound problem-solving skills. Good technical skills are a necessity including working knowledge of computer software programs and databases, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Proficient in the use of spelling, punctuation, sentence structure and grammar. Ability to organize and prioritize. Knowledge of court rules and procedures. Monitor client matters on a routine basis. Possess interpersonal skills necessary in order to communicate and follow instructions effectively from a diverse group of clients, attorneys and admin to provide information with ordinary professionalism, courtesy and tact. Possess interpersonal skills necessary in order to communicate in person, by e-mail and telephone to provide information with ordinary professionalism, courtesy and tact. Must be able to work independently and within a team environment. Work occasionally requires a high level of mental effort and strain while producing a high volume of information. Must be able to be punctual reporting to work and maintain satisfactory attendance. Work occasionally requires more than 40 hours per week to perform the essential duties of the position. Must be able to able to perform each essential duty at a satisfactory level.
