Paralegal - Plaintiffs Law Firm Duties: Investigate asbestos personal injury cases, conduct interviews, draft discovery, prepare intake documents and provide case updates to clients. We are a leading personal injury law firm in Massachusetts. Represent thousands of clients in a wide variety of plaintiff-side work. Obtain pertinent information from potential clients including brief work history and medical diagnosis. Interview client in person or via telephone for detailed chronological history and exposure to asbestos. Investigate asbestos exposure and product identification with client, co-workers, documents, and other sources. Work with attorneys to prepare complaint against asbestos defendants. Prepare responses to defendants written discovery requests for attorney review. Administrative work to prepare client case information for entry to internal case management system for tracking and claims processes. Monitor active assigned cases. Paralegals provide case updates to clients, and obtain new information ranging from changes of address to progressions of asbestos-related disease. Requirements: BA/BS Degree or Associates degree. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Strong initiative; Ability and eagerness to perform detailed investigation of cases. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Desire to build on initial training and skills to advance to high-level cases in our practice. Excellent organizational skills. Professional demeanor. Flexibility to respond to quickly changing priorities. The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
