Litigation Attorney - Community Association Law The candidate will report to: Managing Shareholder or Department Head. Will appear in a court of law, arbitration or other judicial tribunal on behalf of the Firm's client, as well as presenting well-reasoned arguments to the judicial body. Communicate clearly and persuasively both in writing and verbally. Conduct factual and legal research and analysis. Create strategy plans for client matters from pre-litigation notice through trial, and or appeal. Define problems, collect information and data, perform analysis and draw appropriate conclusions. Read, understand and interpret legal documents, financial reports, and scientific and technical documents. Analyzing and summarizing complicated legal documents, including contracts, and suggesting alterations to those documents. Conduct internet research. Work with computer programs including but not limited to Excel, Word, Outlook and Lexis/Nexis. Manage a busy calendar; comply with strict deadlines. Conduct meetings and interviews. Remain responsive to internal and external client inquiries and maintain professional and appropriate levels of communication with internal and external clients. Maintain a regular presence and generally working business hours at the office. Meet or exceed the minimum billable-hour requirement set by the Firm. Travel by car, rail and plane for case-related and business-development matters. Manage multiple projects, clients and active case files. Satisfy required Mandatory Continuing Legal Education (MCLE). The candidate should have Juris Doctor degree. 3+ years' experience required. Should have substantive knowledge of law, rules, decisions, practices and civil State procedures. Substantive knowledge of effective investigation techniques, case management and presentation of matters to decision-making bodies is essential. Working knowledge of appellate courts in California is essential. Strong analytical skills is essential. Must have strong oral advocacy skills. Strong writing and oral communication skills is essential.
