PARALEGAL-LITIGATION The candidate will work closely with Firm attorneys, secretaries, staff counsel, other paralegals, IT specialists, clients, vendors and others to service the cases and projects to which they are assigned by Litigation attorneys. Will interact with members of other practice groups, Firm administration and other Firm personnel. Support the Firm's administrative and civil litigation practices by providing case-specific, project and trial support. Expected to bill a minimum of 1500 hours per year to Firm client matters (including pro bono matters) or approved non-billable practice group work, special assignments or Firm administration assignments, maintain regular office hours consistent with the Firm's normal business hours and be available, as needed, for after-hours and weekend overtime. Case intake, client ***. Should have 7+ years experience as a Litigation Paralegal. Knowledge of drafting and serving abstracts of judgment monitor and renew judgments; knowledge of best practices and legal tools for collections of judgments is needed. Knowledge of the California Code of Civil Procedure, California Rules of Court, local court rules and in some cases, the California Education Code, and other State and federal statutes concerning student education including statutes that are applicable to students that present with disabilities, as well as other legal sources to prepare legal documents, such as memos, briefs, pleadings, appellate filings, etc is required. Knowledge and familiarity with various software, including Concordance, Eclipse, Text Map, Trial Director, TrialPad for iPad, and the Microsoft Office group of software especially Outlook, Word and Excel is plus.
