Legal Secretary/Assistant The candidate will categorize and prioritize incoming items (mail, hand-delivered documents, federal express items, faxes, etc.) each day. Maintain calendar, including entry of hearings, meetings, deadlines, and reminders through the Vision Docketing program. Generate, prepare, and organize documentation and forms, and oversee and coordinate court filings including E-filings. Ensure progression of cases through monitoring court dockets, filing necessary discovery, pleadings, and motions in advance of deadlines. Draft correspondence, motions, summonses, and orders. Coordinate and schedule meetings, conference calls, hearings, mediations, depositions for multiple attorneys. Create, maintain, update and organize both physical and electronic files. The candidate must have a high school or equivalent degree, a college degree preferred with 2-5 years of Civil Litigation experience; work under pressure, and meet strict deadlines; excellent organizational skills and written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook; knowledge of federal and state court rules, trial procedures and litigation process; Federal and state court filing and e-filing experience and calendaring experience; experience with the preparation of legal documents and understanding of legal terminology; effectively communicate with clients, attorneys, staff, court personnel and vendors; experience with the creation of TOA's and TOC's; ability to use a transcriber effectively; effective time management and organizational skills coupled with the ability to be detail-oriented. Must be able to work with minimal supervision, follow written and verbal directions; successful if they are able to execute a variety of secretarial duties of a confidential nature.
