Paralegal The candidate assists with the preparation of discovery (including compiling documents and bates stamping them). Navigates e-discovery systems and managing the document review process through such systems, including importing, exporting, and migration of data inside and outside of such systems, as well as delivery to opposing counsel and government agencies. Performs legal research on a wide variety of topics using Westlaw and other resources. Drafts correspondence, discovery requests and responses, declarations, affidavits, simple motions, and similar legal documents; preparing trademark applications. Provides corporate paralegal support, including managing state business filings and interacting with state agencies, obtaining EINs, conducting and managing UCC searches and filings, researching state corporate law requirements, drafting resolutions and organizational documents, managing closings, drafting closing checklists, preparing closing disks. Prepares Daily and Weekly Reports of important developments in the government contracting space and other areas of firm practice. May acts as an official Notary Public for the Office/Firm. Works on special projects and project teams for the Firm as assigned. Contributes to team effort to accomplish related results as needed. Other duties that may be assigned. Bachelor's degree or a two year college or technical degree with a certification as a paralegal and 5+ years of experience, preferably in a law firm or other comparable combination of experience and education is required. Government contracts, corporate litigation, and/or employment law experience is preferred. Advanced knowledge of PC and Microsoft Office products such as Word, PowerPoint, and Excel and other software programs designed for case/matter support is required.
