Nurse Paralegal Duties: Gathering medical records and performing comprehensive chart reviews for relevancy and standard of care deviations. Drafting memorandums to assist with reporting to insurers. Conferring with clients. Assisting attorneys with preparation for witness depositions. Locating and retaining expert witnesses, preparing information and data for expert witness analysis and opinion, working with expert witnesses on preparation of testimony and trial. Performing medical research and obtaining medical literature relevant to matter. Drafting medical chronologies. Summarizing medical literature. Qualifications: R.N. certification is required. Law Firm experience is preferred. Ability to understand basic medical terminology and anatomy. Strong attention to detail with exceptional organizational skills. Excellent communication skills both verbal and written. Highly motivated, proactive self-starter with excellent time management skills. Ability to multi-task and to reprioritize tasks to accommodate urgent requests. Ability to create a friendly and professional rapport with attorneys, staff and external parties. Ability to maintain confidentiality in all Firm and client matters.
