Part-Time Contracted Paralegal Duties: Prepare legal correspondence, including memos and letters. Strong copyediting skills are a must. Support legal counsel as directed. Respond to inquiries regarding contract obligations and revisions. Assist with negotiation, drafting, reviewing, and monitoring of agreements. Identify and complete complex administrative/special projects, occasionally managing projects. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree. Satisfactory completion of ABA-approved Corporate Paralegal Certificate. 2-5 years of paralegal experience. Experience supporting civil litigators in Texas and federal courts. Some background with state or local government, contracts, environmental, utilities, or real estate law preferred. Strong research skills, including the use of online services, databases and the Internet. Superior organizational skills, project and case management skills, including a strong aptitude for managing and prioritizing multiple projects and deadlines. Ability to keep track of deadlines, time management, and multi-task. Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality. Excellent written and verbal communication ability as well as analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to a wide variety of situations with shifting needs and high level of accountability for work product. Positive attitude and ability to adapt quickly and problem solve independently; and a "take initiative, get it done, do it right" mentality is highly encouraged, respected, and shared by those around you. Strong knowledge of computers, word-processing, and spreadsheet software applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Strong written and verbal communications skills. Capable of deciphering, processing, and applying large amounts of information. Package and reproduce marketing material for training, conferences, and client relations.
