Paralegals Duties: Engage in significant client contact and gain a great deal of insight into immigration law. Work closely with clients to fill out forms, draft affidavits explaining their immigration cases, and gather documents in support of their cases. Administrative responsibilities such as making copies, answering the phone, scheduling appointments, billing clients, and delivering documents to court.
Qualifications: Legal experience and knowledge of immigration law. Spanish or Portuguese fluency is a must. Ideally, we would prefer someone with experience working in an office environment. Computer skills are essential, as Mac-based office uses various online applications and software for legal research and administrative purposes. Superb attention to detail, please write your favorite type of candy in your cover letter. Should have a demonstrated interest in international relations, human rights, and immigration issues. Recent liberal arts graduates are encouraged to apply. A minimum 2-year commitment is expected.
