Legal Secretary RESPONSIBILITIES: Receive, transcribe and format legal dictation using correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation; revise, prepare and distribute legal documents and memoranda Maintain calendars to include scheduling meetings, conference calls, depositions, medical examinations, and other court designated hearings; send calendar invites and follow up with clients, physicians, vendors and other counsel; create and maintain effective diary/task system Track due dates and status of cases/matters, and update attorneys on court deadlines Maintain, organize and index all case files for attorneys; file correspondence, pleadings, and other documentation in an accurate and timely manner. Other duties as assigned. REQUIREMENTS: 2 years' experience as a legal secretary; familiarity with workers compensation rules and procedures preferred. Type of 45+ wpm. Ability to multitask under pressure, take initiative, and demonstrate good judgment in prioritization, assuring deadlines are met consistently. Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail. Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Outlook as well as EAMS. Solid command of grammar and punctuation rules. Fundamental knowledge of legal terminology, court rules and procedures. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a. Consistent customer service oriented attitude. Ability to work independently, as well as a team player. Exercise a high level of confidentiality and discretion. Enjoy and excel in a fast-paced work environment.
