Personal Injury Paralegal Duties: File management (We offer an electronic file system); Regular and consistent correspondence with clients via phone and email; Correspondence with outside agencies; LINX/ECR/ECF navigation - e-filing, e-serving, downloading, and searching. Must know how to e-file; Calendaring hearings, deadlines, reminders; Meeting with clients and witnesses. Communicate with courts and opposing counsel; Drafting pleadings. Understanding of the litigation process and be able to anticipate the upcoming attorney needs; Tracking case costs; Reviewing & analyzing medical records & police records; Preparing demand packages, medical summaries and chronologies; Preparing Prehearing Statements of Proof; Preparing ER 904 packages, Jury Instructions; Negotiating with adjusters. The candidate must be detail-oriented, a team player, a problem-solver, and motivated to take on increasing responsibility in fast-paced litigation practice. Prior litigation experience required. Personal Injury practice experience will be given priority. Familiarity and comfort with technology is a must. Must be resourceful, independent and motivated with excellent communication skills and capable of managing high stress workload. Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Customer Service: Respond promptly to attorney and client requests for service and assistance; meet commitments; Dependability: Follow instructions; complete tasks on time; commit to the hours necessary to complete assignments; work independently; Professionalism: Approach others in a tactful manner; treat others with respect; react well under pressure; Team Work: Contribute to building a positive team spirit; support everyone efforts to succeed; Strong proficiency with MS Word/Office and the ability to type 70+ wpm; The ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment, and under deadlines; must be able to work up a file with minimal supervision from intake through trial preparation and through jury trial; Proven ability to manage multiple deadlines; Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Highly motivated self-starter willing to work towards advancement; Reliable, timely work product turn around. Has foresight; Knowledgeable of all telephone and voice mail functions; Displays good judgment in handling confidential information; Portrays a professional image through appropriate grooming and business attire; Willing and capable to offer assistance to others when needed; Communicate with Firm Administrator on a regular basis regarding work load and any potential conflicts of priorities in order to timely complete assigned projects; May assist with the training and onboarding of new support staff members; Takes ownership; gets the job done without the need for prodding or supervision; Demonstrates a positive attitude and is approachable; Is effective at limiting excessive socializing; Contributes to an atmosphere of teamwork and congeniality; Keeps appropriate people informed of the status of projects, work and deadlines; Answers questions clearly and thoroughly.
