Legal Secretary Responsibilities: Transcribing, drafting, and proofreading correspondence, documents, pleadings, discovery, motions, and trial briefs; Organizing and maintaining case files and trial binders; Calendaring legal deadlines/maintaining attorneys professional calendars; Filing with State and Federal courts (including e-filing) and County Registrar-Recorder Office; and General administrative duties, including answering phones, coordinating meetings, depositions, and mediations, assisting with bookkeeping and billing, and purchasing office supplies. Qualifications: 2+ years of experience; Strong typing skills; Proficient with WordPerfect, Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Westlaw Dissomaster and Jury Instructions, Judicial Council and Local County Forms, Timeslips, and Quickbooks; Knowledge of court filing requirements, including Federal Court, Bankruptcy Court, Appellate Court, and State Court e-filings; The ability to effectively communicate with attorneys, staff, opposing counsel, and clients; The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines; and Good multi-tasking, time management capabilities and has a good attitude.
