Family Law Paralegal The candidate will be supporting partner and associate attorneys in client matters and scheduling. Draft, edit, and proofread documents letters, mediation records, legal dictation, etc.; including creating and revising flowcharts and presentations. Prepare and process legal documents related to divorce and mediation with the Superior Court of California, County of San Diego Family Law Division. (Central, East County, South Bay, and Vista Divisions.). Provide paralegal assistance to senior partners as requested regarding family law cases, hearings, depositions, and court scheduling. Conduct research, summarize and report findings. Maintain active chart of client matters on an ongoing basis. Update and manage client/attorney court calendaring. Ensure prior notice of deadlines and notification of clients for filings, appearances, and hearings. Calendar firm-related administrative and hearing deadlines via CompuLaw. Marketing: Communicate and network with potential client referral sources. Client communication telephone calls, conference calls, e-mail correspondence, mailing and faxing documents, in-person meetings. The candidate should have practicing family law paralegal experience for 3+ years. Must have experience with document production and organization, calendar management, client services and communication. Professional knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio). Word Perfect a plus. Familiarity with Timeslips, Westlaw, Abacus, and all other reference materials or software used by the firm. Ability to work well within a team and support multiple attorneys. Ability to multitask, prioritize workloads with changing priorities. Ability to maintain confidentiality and use good judgment. Excellent editing, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills required. Detailed and deadline-oriented. Ability to adhere to timekeeping (including punctuality) and other general policies and procedures. Duration: 6-8 Months
