Paralegal The candidate's responsibilities Include: Direct client involvement; Drafting and preparing legal documents and correspondence, including Orders to Show Cause, Petitions in applications to discharge an MHL art. 81 guardian, discovery demands, Notices of Settlement, Notices of Entry, Affidavits of Service, and various other papers; Serving legal papers via regular and overnight mail and filing papers in court; Answering calls, filing, mailing, organizing, and other routine administrative office work; Scheduling appointments and prospective client intake; Tasks that would typically be delegated to an administrative assistant, such as depositing checks with the bank, preparing checks, ordering supplies, and office related errands; Formal paralegal training or commensurate experience. Should have familiarity with litigation and Supreme Courts, including service of process, filing cases, motion practice, corresponding with Court Clerks and other Court personnel and also familiarity with NYSCEF, eTrack, PM Legal, Clio Practice Management Software (or ability to learn). Must have exceptional writing and oral communication skills. Should have ability to participate in marketing and business development tasks, including preparing e-newsletters using Constant Contact; using CRM (Clio Grow) software; and developing, refining, and improving office systems.
