Legal Assistant/Paralegal The candidate will greet and welcome guests as they arrive at the office. Ensure office is tidy and presentable, including reception area, conference rooms, kitchen, and office services. Keep updated records (including receipts) of office expenses and costs, when applicable. Receive, sort and distribute daily mail/deliveries. Perform other clerical duties such as filing, photocopying, transcribing and faxing. Provide administrative support to attorneys. Proofread documents and correspondence for accuracy. Coordinate meetings including videoconferences, conferences calls, equipment, and presentation materials. Manage attorney contacts, calendars, and phones including incoming calls, messaging, transfers, and conference calls. Process expense reports and check requests. Prepare invoices, create cover letters, and send out invoices. Enter time for timekeeper and print reports as requested. Run conflicts checks, create client files, and search and print reports. Draft cover letters. Process client packages. Coordinate and assist with trial preparations. Handle multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously. Familiarity with all aspects of complying with filing requirements and deadlines, including ability to draft pleadings and orders, Prepare and e-file documents including but not limited to complaints, discovery, and motion practice in Federal and/or State Courts (specifically Illinois). Prepare and respond to extensive discovery. Document management, organization, retrieval, and production. Maintain case pleadings, correspondence, discovery, and research for large volume cases. Prepare and finalize pleadings in accordance with applicable court rules. Prepare for depositions, i.e., prepare documents electronically and all other discovery related tasks. Organize and prepare exhibit lists and/or privilege logs. Other assigned duties.
