Law Firm Seeks Experienced Paralegal Law Firm is seeking a full-time Paralegal for its Chicago Office to assist attorneys with all phases of insurance litigation. The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 3 years of experience as a litigation paralegal/case manager, preferably in Insurance Coverage and Defense Litigation and a Paralegal Certificate from an ABA accredited program. The salary is commensurate with experience and the firm provides an excellent work environment and benefits package. Key Responsibilities: Monitor active case filings and analyze same Assist in the drafting of pleadings, discovery and motions Summarize medical records, Social Security earnings, employment records, discovery material and other documents obtained while maintaining index of all records Knowledge of insurance policies, ability to identify key terms, limits, premiums Prepare discovery requests, including the independent gathering of documents, facts and witness statements in preparing answers to interrogatories and responses to request for production Assist with discovery including, but not limited to collecting, processing, reviewing and analysis of paper documents and electronically stored information (ESI) Maintain and search internal databases utilizing document management software Research (Westlaw preferred) and other online sources Preparation of appeals, motions and privilege logs Production of documents Shepardizing [blue booking] cases Prepare material for depositions and motions Manage trial logistics, trial preparation including witness and trial binders, and compiling and tracking trial exhibits Maintain court docket for Practice Group Required Experience: Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 3 years of experience as a litigation paralegal/case manager, preferably in Insurance Coverage and Defense Litigation Paralegal Certificate from ABA accredited program Strong attention to detail and organization skills Excellent oral and written communication skills Ability to draft and enter client billable time entries Knowledge of iManage (Billing software), Elite 3e, Lexis File & Serve, document management software, Federal (PACER) & State Court navigation Strong technical skills including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, Adobe Acrobat/Nitro and Westlaw Ability to work effectively under tight time constraints, individually as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
