Paralegal - Employment Litigation The candidate will prepare, organize and maintain all relevant case-related materials for assigned matters. Create, maintain and update electronic and paper case files. Research and ensure compliance with local rules with respect to the court and administrative submissions. Create PowerPoint presentations. Calculate, docket, calendar, and communicate court and internal deadlines. File (electronically or otherwise) documents with courts and administrative agencies. Prepare subpoenas and coordinate payment of witness fees and service. Schedule court reporters and videographers, including tracking of protective order certifications, confidentiality designations, and errata sheets. Conduct legal and factual research on individuals, corporations, and opposing counsel. Assist with discovery requests, responses, and productions, including bates-stamping, redaction, duplication, and indexing of documents. Prepare exhibits and other documents for use at depositions, hearings, and trials. Prepare form submissions, such as notice of appearance, waiver of service, motion for admission pro hac vice, etc. Prepare first drafts of correspondence to clients and opposing counsel. Prepare first drafts of simple form documents like ADR Stipulations, Rule 26(f) reports, corporate disclosures, initial disclosures, etc. Proofread all documents and cite check/bluebook briefs. Perform other duties as assigned. The candidate should preferably have a Bachelor's degree. A certificate from an accredited paralegal program is preferred. Must have 5+ years of experience as a paralegal in a law firm or corporate law department and 5+ years of employment litigation experience. Should have experience with litigation support software (e.g., Relativity, Ringtail, Summation, Concordance, Case Map, Text Map, Time Map, Trial Director, etc.). Must have complete working knowledge of federal, state, and local court and administrative agency rules. Should be proficient with Microsoft Office and Adobe applications (e.g., Word, Excel, Acrobat, and PowerPoint); have excellent oral, written, technical and interpersonal skills; strong attention to detail and data entry skills, and ability to work overtime and off-hours as needed (i.e., nights or weekends).
