This firm is very strong in most practice groups, and in our opinion is an excellent firm to work for. The firm has a long history, and has managed to draw some well-known political figures into its partnership ranks. The associates we have spoken with at this firm describe it as a good place to work and for the most part the associates working here believe that the partners are friendly and accessible. Additionally, the people who work at this firm are all fairly friendly; however, some associates we have spoken with have told us that there appears to be an air of formality to their friendliness. While the Firm does not always get high marks for diversity, much of that has changed in recent years. Additionally, this firm consistently ranks near the top for quality of life issues and the associates who work here all seem to be fairly enthusiastic about the quality of life of the firm. This firm compensates its associates very well, and there are few complaints about compensation issues. While the firm does have a flex time program, many of the associates we have spoken with do not appear that pleased with the program and believe it could use improvement. We should note that one thing that is notable about this firm is that it does appear very well positioned at most times because it is consistently able to generate work and keep its associates in most departments busy.
Paralegal Clerk Clerk will provide legal support under the direct supervision of attorneys and paralegals in Litigation department. Provide effective high quality professional administrative and research support. Interact daily with employees and management. Create and mail legal correspondence and reports. Complete weekly and monthly project reports. Organize and maintain department filing system. Process and analyze invoices for legal services. Maintain calendars and schedules. Review, organize and draft documents. Assist with trial preparation. Legal Research. File documents. File organization/maintenance. General Administrative duties. Flexibility to work additional hours in addition to the standard work week when necessary. Manage dockets and correspondence to ensure accurate procedural workflow. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required; interest in attending law school in the future. Ability to effectively communicate and interact, both orally and in writing, with colleagues, including clients, lawyers, paralegals and legal support staff. High energy level; comfortable performing multifaceted projects in conjunction with day-to-day activities. Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities and work with tight deadlines. Ability to work both independently and with a team. A self-starter who desires to show ownership and commitment to work. Ability to use independent judgment and to maintain confidential information. Strong service orientation and an ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with peers, office and firm management and outside business partners. Effectively take constructive feedback to improve performance. Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business documents. Demonstrated computer skills, including understanding of database applications and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
