JOB SUMMARY Law Firm is looking for an experienced attorney to represent survivors of childhood sexual abuse in civil litigation. The ideal candidate will be organized, empathetic, driven and have a demonstrated ability to handle complex legal research questions, manage discovery, and write compelling legal briefs. DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES Communicating with trauma survivors in an empathetic and supportive manner Interviewing clients Case investigation Propounding/responding to discovery Legal research Drafting motions and complaints Assisting with preparation for depositions, mediation, and trial Performing all other tasks necessary from case retention to conclusion Contribute to effective work relationships in an effort to maintain a positive and productive work environment REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES Highly organized self-starter with attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines. Strong writing, oral, and legal research skills required. Effective communication style Self-starter who is highly organized with a strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize and meet deadlines The ability to independently manage a busy case load, work under pressure, and meet deadlines The ability to build and foster client relationships and to accept constructive feedback Flexible and open-minded thinker Knowledgeable of court filing and civil litigation procedures for both Federal and State Courts in California EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Juris Doctorate degree, or equivalent, from a law school accredited by the American Bar Association (ABA) Licensed to practice law in California One to three years of experience required Law Firm is looking for an experienced attorney to join their team and represent survivors of childhood sexual abuse in civil litigation. The ideal candidate will be organized, empathetic, driven and have a demonstrated ability to handle complex legal research questions, manage discovery, and write compelling legal briefs. This position offers a salary range of $125,000 to $160,000/yr, and is a full-time position with the Law Firm. The successful candidate must have the following: Juris Doctorate degree, or equivalent, from a law school accredited by the American Bar Association (ABA) Licensed to practice law in California One to three years of experience required Highly organized self-starter with attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines. Strong writing, oral, and legal research skills required.
