Patent Legal Administrative Assistant The candidate will work with other talented individuals who share a passion for doing great work in the best interest of clients. Managing attorney/agent dockets to ensure all deadlines are met in a timely manner; handling some responses independently; reviewing files to determine next action; conferring with attorneys/agents to discuss file status and upcoming deadlines. Gathering necessary information and drafts patent prosecution documents for filing U.S. and foreign patents. Drafting client correspondence.. Developing strong working relationships with clients and coordinating client communications on patent matters. Maintaining client files that attorneys/agents are working on, including filing of materials, having new files opened, and having files closed in a timely and appropriate manner as directed. Using docketing system to generate documents, finding information and running reports. Assisting with client billing. Assisting attorneys/agents with the preparation and filing of applications, office action responses, IDSs, and other-related documents. Demonstrating good judgment and professionalism, and exhibiting flexibility and versatility to provide support. Demonstrating strong reasoning and resolution skills. Performing special projects as required to increase the professional effectiveness and efficiency of the legal team. Requirements: High school graduate. College degree preferred. Paralegal certificate helpful. 2+ years of experience preparing and filing patent applications, office action responses, IDSs, and related prosecution documents. Excellent attention to detail, organizational and communication skills, and word processing skills. Ability to lean new software programs. A self-starter who initiates and anticipates and has high energy. Ability to problem-solve. Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to work well independently, organize, prioritize work, be detail-oriented and make decisions, facilitate and manage deadlines. Ability to use sound judgment and discretion in dealing with highly confidential information.
