Legal Secretary The candidate will serve as front desk receptionist; greet clients and visitors. Answer office telephone, route calls, and take messages as needed. Coordinate all incoming and outgoing mail/packages. Coordinate all incoming and outgoing deliveries with couriers/runners. Schedule new client consultations, client appointments, and other meetings. Draft correspondence and documents as assigned. Accept payments from clients, write receipts, and assist with billing of services from vendors/outside service providers. Complete administrative duties such as making copies, scanning documents, and managing electronic office files (we are a paperless office). Proofread documents for proper grammar, consistency and citation form (Bluebook). Must be willing and able to learn new tasks and train to become a skilled litigation paralegal. The candidate must have 1+ year of general office support experience. Applicants with prior law office support experience will be given extra consideration is required. Must work closely with attorneys and paralegals to learn and maintain a working knowledge of the rules of civil/criminal procedure; must learn to schedule deadlines and court appearances. Must work closely with attorneys and paralegals to cross-train on filing (e-filing) of pleadings/motions. Must work closely with attorneys and paralegals to cross-train on service (e-service) of discovery related documents. Should have ability to communicate in spoken and written English language is required; Spanish is helpful. Extra consideration will be given to those who are bilingual. Must be detail oriented and extremely organized.
