Legal Secretary The candidate should have 3-5 years of experience to assist multiple attorneys in our Litigation and Administrative Law & Regulatory Compliance Group. Creating, editing, proofreading and redlining of legal documents for accuracy and grammar. Formatting, finalizing, and filing of legal documents in state, county, appellate, and federal courts, and in Florida administrative proceedings. E-filing knowledge is a must. Proofreading and cite checking legal briefs. Creating Table of Contents, Table of Authorities.. Organizing and maintaining paper and electronic files. Updating and maintaining client files. Arranging for delivery of legal correspondence to clients, and court officials. Maintaining attorney calendars through Outlook (i.e. scheduling appointments, calendaring due dates, case deadlines, etc.). Performing a variety of administrative functions such as opening new matters, preparing engagement letters, creating and filing expense reports, entering attorney time, preparing travel arrangements, and assisting with business development projects. Should have 3-5 years prior experience as a Legal Assistant. Proficient with federal, state, county and appellate procedures and e-filing requirements. Familiar with Florida government branches. Familiar with DOAH and agency filings. Must have excellent proofreading, document formatting, and redlining skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage time and prioritize workload. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. Database/internet research skills. Experience with Worksite/Filesite document management system.
