Trust & Estates Paralegal The candidate will maintain attorney calendars, assisting with the preparation of estate planning documents, organizing matter files and communicating with clients. Draft legal documents including wills and POAs. Coordinate and manage client matters and projects. Oversee all aspects of trusts and estates in probate. Prepare and file probate documents in order to open and/or close estates, as well as prepare all requisite documents relative to trusts and estates in probate. Collect and distribute estate/decedent's assets by contacting banks, brokerage houses, and appraisers. Prepare receipts and releases. Open, establish, and maintain estate checking accounts. Assist with estate administration and estate tax return preparation. Coordinate asset transfers and funding of trusts. Communicate with necessary parties relative to appropriate funding. Maintain estate bank accounts and investments. Should have 3-5 years of experience as a paraprofessional, preferably in trust & estates. Should have 5+ years of experience with thorough knowledge of estate planning and trust administration. Paralegal Diploma or Certificate is required.
