Medicare Associate Attorney The candidate' will act as a legal consultant on Civil and Workers Compensation defense matters, educating attorneys and clients on the potential impact of the Medicare Secondary Payor Act on settlement, including conditional payment obligations, assessment of future medical exposure and best strategies to adequately consider Medicare's interests when resolving underlying litigation. Should have Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school; Licensed to practice law in any state. Illinois, Missouri and Wisconsin preferred; Should have At least two years of legal experience with Medicare Secondary Payer Compliance issues. Medicare Set-Aside Certified Consultant (MSCC) designation or ability to acquire within 6 months of start Certified Medicare Secondary Payer Professional (CMSP) designation or ability to acquire within one (1) year to start.
