Paralegal Job Description, an established boutique law firm in the Dunwoody/Sandy Springs area of Atlanta, is seeking a legal assistant/paralegal to support the firm's litigation, family law, and transactional practices. The ideal candidate should be capable of working in a fast-paced environment, open to performing a variety of tasks at the request of attorneys (including administrative tasks such as filing), extremely detail-oriented, and eager to work as part of a team. Applicants should be proficient in Microsoft Office and possess strong grammar and proofreading skills. Experience with LexisNexis and/or Westlaw is preferred, but not required. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Act as point of contact for clients (includes management of new client intake) Manage assigned cases Respond to discovery requests Draft requests for documents to non-parties Schedule depositions Calendar discovery deadlines Maintain discovery indexes Perform legal research, evidence gathering (accident reports & medical records), lien searches, and similar tasks at the direction of attorneys Draft and finalize legal documents Other duties as assigned by attorneys Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Strong writing and communication skills along with attention to detail Proficient with computer programs such as Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, Google Drive Proficient using legal research tools such as Lexis Nexis and Westlaw Experience using Odyssey eFile GA, Peachcourt, PACER/ECF GA Applicable knowledge of motions, discovery, evidence, litigation documentation, court rules Positive individual that can work well with a team Highly organized with ability to juggle multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment Ability to adjust to constantly changing workloads Paralegal, associates degree, or other relevant certification a plus Strong administrative skills such as typing, filing, and compiling case and matter files Notary Public a plus Work Environment Work a scheduled shift in person Monday through Friday, forty hours per week, 8:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. with a 30-minute lunch break Need to be able to walk, stand, sit or lift 10 pounds Benefits package includes: base pay and bonuses, generous PTO and medical insurance Company address: 56 Perimeter Center E, #450 Posted date: 6 hours ago View all Jobs at
