Temporary Legal Secretary The candidate will be calendaring case deadlines including discovery deadlines, court hearings, depositions, mediations, and client meetings. Open new files, run conflicts checks, and maintain all client and general files electronically via ProLaw. Work well under pressure, keep a calm and professional demeanor at all times. Schedule hearings with opposing counsel and court staff. File all motions and pleadings. Make appointments and travel arrangements; maintain calendar and deadline reminder system. Draft correspondence. Interact with clients, visitors and attorneys/staff via phone, email and in-person. Should have 5+ years of experience. Must have excellent organizational and communication skills, interpersonal and customer service skills and the ability to interact effectively and professionally with management, staff and external entities including clients of the firm, be detail-oriented, and able to prioritize their workload. Must have working knowledge and experience in e-filing. Proficiency in running conflicts, file opening and closing required. Must possess and have knowledge of relevant software applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook); must be able to maintain a high degree of confidentiality, and consistently produce high-quality work product. Knowledge or experience with ProLaw or Timeslips software is a plus, as is experience with current local, state and federal court filing requirements.
