Legal Secretary The candidate will be answering phone and screening calls. Will be keeping the attorneys' calendar current and updated. Knowledge of state court litigation procedures. Preparing discovery and complaints propounded by the attorneys, summonses, subpoenas, deposition notices, etc. Serving and filing legal documents. Setting up and coordinating depositions, mediations, client appointments, hearings, and sometimes personal appointments for the attorneys. Gathering case document files and preparing files for attorneys. Photocopying and scanning documents. Preparing, finalizing, and mailing documents and correspondence. Properly calendaring all deadlines, including civil litigation deadlines in Microsoft Outlook. Ordering medical records and following up with records status. Assisting attorneys with trial preparation. Communicating and corresponding with clients, experts, court, and opposing counsel professionally. Supporting attorneys/staff as needed. Must be a college graduate. Should have 5+ years or experience working in a law firm. Strong computer skills (WordPerfect, Word, Outlook and Excel)isn Excellent oral and communication skill is needed.
