Litigation Paralegal - Liability Defense The candidate will prepare draft of pleadings, discovery demands/responses, motions, subpoenas, settlement documents, etc. Process authorizations and compile medical records. Analyzing medical records, draft summaries and chronologies Communicate with courts, clients, experts, opposing counsel, and counsel for co-defendants. Schedule and confirm IME appointments with experts. Manage and update case activity to assist attorneys with case monitoring and client reporting. Assist with prepping files for mediation, arbitration and trial. Prepare cases from inception to trial. Accurately record and maintain billable hours. The Candidate should have a 2+ years of experience. Have experience in civil litigation and management of high-volume of cases. Must be familiar with all aspects of liability and defense litigation. Knowledge of New York State Unified Court System and Federal E-Filing Procedures is required. MS Word, Excel and Outlook experience, and the ability to learn new programs and systems is vital. Paralegal certificate; Associate Degree or higher is preferred. Must have a strong oral and written communication skills and ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Legal research (Lexis, Westlaw) proficiency is preferred.
