Associate Attorney Duties: Communicate appropriately & effectively with firm members, clients and outside parties. Draft, review, and file legal pleadings, motions, discovery, etc. on active litigation files. Review case files and pleadings to determine appropriate action. Advocate on behalf of client's interests in various litigation settings. Perform other legal firm duties as assigned. Expect to engage in every aspect of a legal matter including client conferences, pleading preparation (& other legal writing), discovery and motion practice, client meetings, court appearances, working with prosecutors on plea arrangements, and/or working civil and/or criminal cases up to and/or through trial and provide general support to the firm. REQUIREMENTS: Good Standing Member of NY State Bar. 2+ years experience in Family Court Law & Practice, with courtroom hearing & trial experience. Experience in Criminal Law/Courts (also, any Civil Litigation experience preferable). Working knowledge/ability to use N.Y. civil procedure. Excellent verbal & writing skills. Have own personal transportation to legal meetings/court appearances. Strong organizational and time management skills. Be able to operate a computer, phone and/or equivalent devices. Experience with Wordperfect and/or Microsoft Office suite, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
