This New England based firm has a Washington DC post that is notable for its attorneys. Well connected and well credentialed, many these attorneys have held prestigious posts in the federal government. The Washington office remains very much a small, branch office, but has the foundation on which to grow.
Real Estate Paralegal The candidate will have the ability to work with: title insurance, preparing title commitments, policies and endorsements, E-Recording and drafting of related real estate documents. Typical responsibilities may include: title research in the various Registries of Deeds in Maine, as well as other states as needed; including full title searches, current owner searches, asset searches, and searches addressing issues such as boundary disputes, water and beach rights and road rights. Should preferably have exceptional technical and organizational skills and the ability to learn and work independently. Must have the ability to understand the mechanics of title searching, the Maine Title Standards, and proceedings in Bankruptcy, District, Superior and Probate Courts. Familiarity with surveys, plans and plotting legal descriptions and the ability to summarize title work in detail will be necessary. Must have an understanding of the role of a Real Estate Paralegal within a full-service law firm environment.
