Litigation Paralegal The candidate will manage all aspects of civil litigation matters. Maintain, update, and organize client files, court pleadings, discovery documents, correspondence, and other documents in hard copy form as well as electronic form. Finalize pleadings and exhibits for filing. E-file documents in state (LA County Superior Court) and federal court. Send notices to all parties and scheduling court reporters for depositions. Schedule and calendar appointments, hearings, depositions, etc. Prepare and finalize subpoenas. Assist with responses to discovery requests, including redacting documents in Adobe Acrobat Professional. Prepare pleadings, discovery, and other documents for service by mail, FedEx, and messenger. Calendar litigation-related deadlines. Draft correspondence and notices to be sent to opposing counsel and clients. Prepare and organize trial binders. Assist with general office tasks such as answering phones. Perform other miscellaneous projects and tasks as requested by attorneys and Senior Paralegal. The candidate should have done Graduation and certificate from ABA-approved paralegal training program or the equivalent with a specialty in Litigation. At least five (5) years of litigation experience required. Must have the ability to organize and prioritize a substantial workload, to multi-task effectively, and to work well independently and as part of a team. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Excellent organizational skills. Excellent attention to detail. Solid knowledge of legal terminology. Knowledge of California rules of civil procedure. Strong ability to organize and prioritize workload. Strong ability to multi-task effectively and meet deadlines for multiple attorneys. Ability to work well independently and as part of a team. Well-developed analytical and problem solving skills. Intermediate skills with Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, and Power Point.
