Real Estate Paralegal Duties: Review and understand real estate contract terms and the real estate process from contract opening to closing. Obtain an understanding of various types of real estate transactions, including, short sales, 1031 exchanges, REO transactions, tax deed sales and purchases, and basic commercial transactions. Explain contract modifications with clients. Review home inspection issues with clients. Explain incoming and outgoing correspondence with clients through heavy phone and email communication. Communicate with department attorney regarding dictation, reviewing same and sending out to proper parties. Prepare correspondence based on communication with clients, brokers, lenders, and attorneys. Develop a rapport with clients, brokers, and lenders and treat all parties in a transaction with courtesy and respect, in a professional manner. This includes regular phone calls with all parties. Document preparation including but not limited to printing, scanning, copying, and filing. Prepare closing statements, including figuring tax pro-rations. Complete title clearance, including with respect to Estates, LLCs, Corporations, etc. Process miscellaneous checks. Assist other staff members as necessary including reviewing proposed correspondence, contract terms, and other client communications. Learn new technology and processes as required in order to improve productivity. Qualifications: High School Diploma or the equivalent required. Extensive Real Estate Experience. Ability to learn practice management software. Excellent communication / customer service skills. Excellent organizational skills. Promptness and quick turn-around times with respect to all communication and tasks. Fast paced work habits. Ability to handle high volume of files. Ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments while delivering consistent, quality work product. Ability to handle stress well. Strong work ethic and ability to self-start. Demonstration of accuracy and thoroughness A" strong attention to detail. Ability to work independently as well as with a team environment. Basic computer skills A"over two-thirds of the position entails sitting at a desk and typing. Ability to apply common sense to carry out or give instruction. Ability to comprehend duties that have several step by step instructions. Over-time will be required at certain times of the year and as business needs required. Advantageous: experience with estate planning and probate matters
