Paralegal Legal Assistant The candidate will handle maintenance and management of case files to include diligent monitoring and docketing of deadlines and hearings. Draft and file pleadings in Municipal, State and Federal courts; prepare and format briefs for the Alabama Appellate courts. Management of the discovery process: draft Interrogatories and Requests for Production; meet with clients to finalize discovery responses; file appropriate Motions for past-due discovery; notice depositions and summarize transcripts; organize, Bates label and index voluminous documents. Conduct reliable legal research via FastCase Prepare exhibits, chronologies, and summaries for trial, and index within a Trial Notebook for swift retrieval during trial. Track billable hours/expenses and generate client bills (TimeSlips, Quickbooks), maintain Accounts Receivable records, generate annual income reports, and vigorously pursue client collections. Excellent typing skills necessary for transcribing emails and pleadings from dictation. Should have Associate's degree. Should have 3+ years - Paralegal. Should have 1+ years - Microsoft Office.
