Legal Assistant/Paralegal The candidate will handle communication with clients, witnesses etc. Administratively support and attend trials. Prepare case briefs and summarize depositions, interrogatories and testimony. Conduct investigations and statistical/documentary research. Locate and develop case relevant information. Type up and file basic legal documents and correspondence. Answer and direct phone calls. Maintain contact lists. Monitor deadlines and juggle calendars. Proven working experience as legal assistant or legal secretary required. Familiarity with law, legal procedures and protocols, and court system required. Satisfactory knowledge of day-to-day operations of a legal office required. Computer literacy required. Proficiency in English required. Working knowledge of case management software required. Excellent secretarial and organizational skills required. Legal Assistant certification or diploma required. 2-3 years of law firm experience supporting attorneys in litigation required. Familiarity with online filing and service vendors (OneLegal, etc.) required. Propounding and responding to discovery required. Identification and filling out of proper judicial council forms required. Drafting of pleadings, including complaints and motions required. Familiarity with and calendaring of legal deadlines required. Trial support (plus but not required).
