Construction and Design Litigation Attorney Responsibilities: Responsible for all aspects of construction claims and litigation, involving both private and public projects, in litigation or alternative dispute resolution. Litigation may include, issues such as defective specifications, professional negligence/malpractice, government procurement, differing site conditions and claim notice provisions. Qualifications: Active membership or commitment to applying for the Washington State Bar. 2+ years of experience handling construction litigation and associated claims. Experience handling cases in state and federal court. Ability to work collaboratively as well as independently. Ability to handle a variety of matters simultaneously to meet client demands. Excellent research, writing, communication, and interpersonal skills. 2+ years of experience working with design professionals, architects, engineers, public and private project owners, developers or contractors in a wide range of matters including assisting on significant construction claims and litigation, including defense of architects and engineers in professional errors and omissions cases, or representation of private and public owners, developers, and contractors in construction litigation and arbitration disputes. Will have some experience in depositions and motions practice, with trial and second chair experience a plus. Will have strong academic credentials, an understanding of construction law, Washington construction law a plus, and excellent oral and written communication skills. The ideal candidate will have an active membership in or commitment to applying for the Washington State Bar. Experience should include taking and defending fact witness depositions, litigation and assisting in claim strategy, handling extensive document and electronic discovery, and drafting and arguing various legal motions. Trial and/or arbitration experience is a plus.
