Litigation Paralegal The candidate will report directly to the Managing Partner. Will require a combination of the following repeating job duties throughout the day, each day: creating, modifying, adjusting, and updating priority action item lists for for firm matters, and ensuring consistent contact throughout the day with respect to each; coordinating, communicating, and working closely with staff and attorneys to ensure that can be confident the firm is servicing its clients at the highest level - including check-ins for updates on cases and client communications, filings, scanning, mail management, and calendar reliability; calling clients, opposing counsel, and third-parties on my behalf for updates, information exchange, call scheduling, and/or simply ensuring responsiveness in a professional manner; ensuring that we avoid calendar conflicts with respect to court dates, motion due dates, depositions, client meetings, calls, or other competing needs; keeping the team updated and aware with respect to all of the above and any upcoming deliverables so that we all have sufficient time to be prepared, on time, or otherwise reschedule or staff needs as needed; preparing documents for depositions, motions, and trial; and ultimately making sure that nothing requiring my time or attention falls through the cracks at any time, on any day, ever. Must be extremely detail-oriented; organized; strategic; a critical thinker and problem-solver; a self-starter; highly accountable; and obsessively critical about accuracy, spelling, timeliness, professionalism, and grammar. Successful candidates function well in fast-paced environments requiring constant follow-up, autonomy, precision, and poise. It is imperative that candidates are well-versed in filing documents in federal court, County, and other local courts. Similarly, candidates must be familiar with local rules and standing orders regarding filings, scheduling court hearing dates, etc. Must be familiar with substantive aspects of an attorney's work as wells as a strong understanding of law firms and various actions connected with litigation.
