Legal Secretary/Legal Assistant Responsibilities: Schedule depositions, site inspections, hearings, and other case meetings for attorneys and legal staff. Draft and proofread correspondence and legal documents. Accurately calendar all events and deadlines for assigned cases, including conferences, depositions, meetings, periodic reports, and all trial-related deadlines. Communicate with clients, opposing counsel and other parties, judicial administrative staff, legal support vendors, and experts, and monitor and communicate upcoming deadlines with attorneys. Maintain accurate and complete case documentation, including managing electronic files. Provide general administrative assistance to assigned attorneys (4). Monitor and order office supplies; and coordinate travel. Qualifications: 5 years of civil litigation defense experience. Must be able to work independently, support multiple attorneys, be proactive, and manage an active caseload. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential. Must be detail-oriented, highly organized, and skilled at operating Microsoft Office software. A thorough understanding of legal documents, processes, and terminology is required. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in one or more of the following defense specialties: personal injury, commercial liability, construction defect, and general civil litigation. Experience with California Superior Courts and judicial processes. Strong technology skills including email, video conferencing, electronic discovery, and document management; and paralegal experience is a plus.
