Regulatory Paralegal The candidate will specialize in marijuana law and policy development and share expertise with all stakeholders in this new, ever-changing regulatory environment. Advise businesses in new opportunities, state applications, licenses, corporate formation & restructuring, employment contracts, mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, commercial real estate, dispute resolution, with a specialization in compliance. For businesses and individuals, they offer criminal, civil and administrative representation. Researches law and regulations and prepares documents to assist firm Partners and Attorneys, as well as performing a variety of administrative support duties. Provide expert paralegal and administrative support with minimal supervision; demonstrate exceptional organizational skills and handle various legal tasks with strong attention to detail. Prepare, edit, review, and organize client documents, including client emails, memoranda, compliance reviews, PowerPoint materials, contracts, legal summaries, licenses, applications, agency correspondence and relevant client information for attorney review. Prepare and organize redline/blackline versions of documents during drafting and prepare & organize client deliverables. Ensure documentation is properly filed electronically and physically and manage filing naming and organizational systems. Conduct research of legislation, regulations, and precedent, such as those requiring research of agency policy positions and statutory, regulatory, court and/or administrative precedents, and other legal opinion or documentary materials. Maintenance and development of templates and SOPs for corporate document forms, workflows, and databases. Interface with clients and manage client deadlines and communication. Communicate with regulatory authorities and relay accurate information to the client. Manage multiple deadlines with competing priorities. Stay up to date with industry-related legislation and regulations and maintain strong knowledge of regulations, trends and changes in hemp laws and regulations. Occasional legal research using Westlaw. Assists with Client Intake, National Licensing, and other departments as needed. Other duties as assigned. Bachelor's Degree required. 3-8 years of experience working as a Paralegal required. Paralegal Certification preferred. Litigation experience desired. Exceptional organization skills, strong self-motivator and fast learner with high attention to detail. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat. Experience with Net Docs, Clio, Lexis/Nexis, Westlaw and DocuSign preferred. Excellent time and deadline management skills in a fast-paced environment, able to juggle multiple projects and reprioritize quickly and efficiently. Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work with individuals at all levels of the organization in a positive, collaborative manner. Excellent oral and written communication skills including familiarity with common legal terminology. Ability to uphold the highest standards of discretion and confidentiality and exercise good judgment on day-to-day decisions. Excellent proofreading, formatting, and word processing skills. Able to analyze and correctly interpret regulatory requirements. An understanding of how to apply and navigate state and federal regulations around hemp laws is desirable.
