Legal Secretary The candidate will prepare legal documents for attorney's approval and use by identifying forms and formats; produce text; proofread; maintain a document control system. Oversee cases by managing files and documents; coordinate with support services and clients, opposing law firms, and courts; managing court docket calendar; expedite paper flow; maintain schedules and deadlines; generating status reports, logs, and indexes; processing settlement papers and payments. Maintain database by organizing document control; designing retrieval systems; summarizing, coding, and storing documents; updating system. Enter billable times in Timeslips billing software in a manner relevant to the client for work performed. Support attorneys of Trust and Estates, Real Estate, and Business Law. The candidate should preferably have a Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of experience working for a law firm. Must have a strong commitment to quality client service; strong computer skills (Word, Outlook, and Excel); excellent communication skills, and the ability to organize and prioritized work to meet the deadlines of the cases; attention to detail with speed and accuracy is important. Must be able to effectively and efficiently manage multiple projects and competing deadlines; adapt to changing priorities and remain flexible to meet client and attorney needs. Able to take initiative and anticipate what needs to be done; understand and follow specific, detailed instructions.
