Paralegal The candidate will conducts research to support legal proceedings. Assists with the drafting and reviewing of legal documents, document preparation and correspondence, files motions and pleadings according to judicial procedures. Prepares, organizes, stores, and retrieves case files, which may include evidence, exhibits, depositions, pleadings, and other items. Investigates facts to help in the negotiation of legal disputes, researches and analyzes statutes, regulations, legal articles, judicial decisions, and other legal sources; provides written analysis to attorneys. Monitors and ensures compliance with state and federal regulations. Gathers and analyzes intake information and documentation, such as medical records, bills, etc. and records and stores client information. Provides excellent customer service & client contact. Meets with attorneys, clients, and other professionals to discuss assigned cases or projects as needed, Interviews clients and witnesses and prepares summaries of their statements. Develops and maintains records regarding billable hours spent on specific cases and maintains Firm billable hours standards. Performs other related legal administrative duties as assigned, Adheres to the Firms Code of Ethics, company policies, and operating principles. Ideal experience 4+ years. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. Experience in Workers' Compensation within South Carolina and experience communicating with Insurance Adjusters is preferred Understanding of legal language and principles, research methods, court pleadings and processes, and other related matters are required. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills are required. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail are required. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines are required. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required. Ability to function well in a high-paced environment are required. Ability to maintain confidentiality, and to exercise discretion and good judgment are required. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software are required. A self-starter who takes initiative to complete daily tasks are required.
