IP Paralegal The candidate will be responsible for multiple facets of patent prosecution with an emphasis on post allowance, formalities, and assisting with the docketing overflow. Will review Notice of Allowance documents and ensure all required application documents are on file with the USPTO before the Issue Fee deadline. Prepare and file US Issue Fees. Prepare reporting letters to clients. Prepare invoices for task-based billing clients. Assist in daily quality assurance review for patent filings. Assist in maintaining and updating foreign and US patent prosecutions in docket systems to track deadlines associated with obtaining and maintaining foreign and domestic patents. Perform electronic interactions with the USPTO as well as foreign and international intellectual property entities (e.g. searches, status checks, electronic filings). Contribute to general needs of the Patent Group including back-up assistance and participate is special projects. High school diploma or equivalent required. Specialized Paralegal degree, Associate's and/or Bachelor's degree desirable. Must have 5+ years of Intellectual Property legal experience. Should have advanced knowledge of Patent rules and procedures. Must be proficient in navigating EFS, PAIR, ESPACENET and other foreign patent offices. Intermediate to advanced knowledge of MS Office suite and document management programs is required. Excellent communication, writing, proofreading, and editing skills are necessary.
