Paralegal - Intellectual Property and Tech The candidate will be responsible for preparing drafts of legal and other documents and correspondence for attorney review. This will include handling assignments and post registration filings for U.S. registrations, handling U.S. filings for foreign based clients, and keeping clients apprised of the status of marks and patents. Work to complete standard U.S. trademark and patent application filings, and individual or limited group foreign filing programs, including legalization of documents. Research will focus on locating and reviewing information applicable to a particular case, person or subject via online research or document reviews. Draft simple pleadings to assist attorneys with major motions and filings. The candidate must have Bachelor's degree and/or paralegal certificate. 5 years' experience as a paralegal in a law firm setting supporting an Intellectual Property/ Trademark practice group is necessary. Should be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Experience with legal software such as Relativity, LexisNexis, Westlaw, or similar technology is critical. Strong experience filing in Federal Courts is required. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required to interact with staff, attorneys and clients on a daily. 10 years experience in a law firm setting supporting an Intellectual Property/ Trademark practice group is preferred. Large firm experience is beneficial. Experience filing in Chancery Court is an asset.
