Part-time Of Counsel Attorney The candidate will draft pleadings, discovery demands, discovery responses, motions, correspondence, and expert disclosures. Will attend court appearances, including discovery, status and settlement conferences; argue motions. Will conduct/defend depositions and participate in site inspections. Will perform legal research and draft research memoranda. Will review and evaluate pleadings, discovery responses, contracts, medical records, expert reports and deposition testimony; provide liability and damages analysis. Will draft client status reports, conduct investigation and communicate with clients. Will identify risk transfer opportunities and take necessary steps to secure successful tender. The candidate should have at least three (3) years prior experience in a civil defense litigation practice. Should have minimum commitment of twenty-five (25) hours per week. Should have admission to the New York State Bar with active license. Will capacity to primarily work remotely. Should have flexibility to work from the firm's New York City office when requested. Should have ability to manage a New York civil defense litigation file from start to finish without supervision or training. Should have extensive knowledge of New York State civil practice. Should have excellent research, writing and organizational skills. Should have availability to travel to and attend professional commitments within New York State.
