Castillo & Associates The candidate must have at least 5 years of experience in all facets of handling a large caseload of workers comp claims from initial interview to pre-settlement. This includes initial client interviews, filling out new client forms, setting up the file on A-1 law, referring to the MPN doctor, filing a DOR for various reasons including med treatment, TTD, RFA's, reimbursement for mileage, MMI, handle and be a pro on all EAMS & Filing with the WCAB's, C&R's, Stip's, Petitions for LC 5710 fees, LC 132a, S&W, be able to quickly evaluate a Third Party PI matter and make the appropriate referral or sign up for the firm. Address and handle all SPQME letters, advocacy letters, prepare exhibits and properly use EAMS to send to opposing counsel or the claims adjuster and know the rules and time limits on the statutory periods when to respond and address QME's and PTP's on the MPN's. Must be able to type 50-60 wpm. You must have a minimal of 5 years experience in dealing with workers comp clients and PI clients and handle all aspect of the claim before settlement. this position is for a fully trained Senior claims, Senior legal secretary or Senior Paralegal - Hearing Representative that requires no additional training. Must have a minimal of a High School Education with completion and any additional college courses or legal or paralegal training. Should be able to be very competent to speak excellent English and write, read and spell at a college level. There will be additional training in the areas of Advanced Workers' Compensation, Personal Injury and some areas of Immigration law.
