Workers Compensation/ Employment Law Paralegal Duties: Calendaring Court deadlines and reminders. Preparation of pleadings, motions and orders. Filing of lawsuits online. Answer and propound discovery. Organize and analyze discovery. Schedule Hearings, Depositions, Mediations and Trials. Preparation for Mediations and Trials. Drafting and proofreading pleadings and discovery. Preparation of settlement distributions and allocations. Qualifications: Workers compensation experience is a must. Civil Circuit Court Experience is a must. Extensive contact with clients, adjusters, medical providers, lien holders and opposing counsel. Pre-suit and Litigation experience. Knowledge in Trial preparation and strong research skills. Must have an full understanding of Rules of Civil Procedure. Capable of carrying a large caseload. Capable of opening files and working files. Good understanding of applicable Florida laws. Ability to contact lien holders and update/dispute/negotiate: Medicare, Medicaid and subrogation companies; Working knowledge of Aderant Total Office (Client Profiles). Must be self-motivated, have excellent organizational skills and must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Word Perfect and Outlook.
