This is the Atlanta outpost of an international firm. Although this firm is international, it still has a decidedly regional feel to it, and it international only to service certain valued clients. Life is reasonably good in the Atlanta office, where there are attorneys capable of handling every measure of legal problem faced by companies or corporations. Although the litigators are able to become more specialized, corporate associates have a general practice, which ocassional spreads them (and their expertise) a bit thin. Lagging behind in compensation, this firm is dedicated to associate life issues, and has, as a result, a good deal of devoted associates.
Paralegal The candidate work with public finance lawyers who represent state and local governments and authorities, nonprofit organizations, underwriters and banks in municipal bond transactions. The candidate will undertake a range of tasks and responsibilities that include: Preparation of documentation for closings including, organizing proofreading and assembling documents; Conducting due-diligence; Drafting bond documents, disclosure documents, closing certificates and opinions, and IRS and State tax filings; Coordinating closing logistics; Analyzing financial statements and calculating debt ratios; Preparing and filing of UCC Financing Statements; Researching industry databases and publicly-available information from local governments and other sources. The candidate must have prior experience as a paralegal in public finance, commercial lending transactions, or corporate law. Must be detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and understand the cycle of a transaction. Must be proactive self-starter with demonstrated experience maintaining high quality work product in a fast-paced environment and within time constraints. Should have Strong writing and proofreading skills, oral communication skills, research, organizational and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (including Excel) and document management systems is required.
