Paralegal The candidate provides high-level day-to-day paralegal/secretarial support to the managing attorney and all legal staff, including Corporate, Real Estate, Estate Planning, Intellectual Property and other transactional assignments. In addition to research and preparation of documents for Corporate litigated cases. Limited research to assist attorney regarding investigation of facts and case law. Receive and screen communications, including telephone calls and emails, and provide general assistance to clients. Review and prepare miscellaneous legal documents that may include briefs, wills and trusts, real estate documentation, trademark/copyright, corporate books, discovery, and exhibits. Prepare affidavits of documents, maintaining case correspondence and document files. Evaluate current procedures to determine process that is more efficient. Review and file petitions, pleadings, and other legal documents pertinent to court procedures via mail and efile under the direction of the attorney in charge for Chicago and the collar counties. Prepare subpoenas and/or documents to parties and witnesses. Provide back-up, when necessary, to Legal Secretary which may include preparing routine letters and correspondence, mail, and answering phone calls. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested. Must have a Bachelor's degree or Paralegal Certificate. Should have 5+ years' experience in a business or corporate law firm. Must have 1-3 years of Corporate formation, Estate Planning (including trust transfers), Intellectual Property and/or Commercial Real Estate. Should have excellent knowledge of court efiling requirements, zoom, MS Suite, postage handling, and other office equipment. Bi-lingual a plus.
