Attorney The candidate must have 3+ years of experience with health and welfare plans. Should preferably have substantive knowledge and understanding of the laws governing health and welfare plans, including ERISA, the Internal Revenue Code (including Section 125 cafeteria plans), the Consolidated Appropriations Act, the Affordable Care Act, HIPAA, and COBRA and their respective implementing regulations and guidance. Must be a member of the California Bar, or willing to become a member of the California Bar. Should also have experience with drafting plan documents, summary plan descriptions, and other plan communications and with negotiating service provider agreements. Experience with benefits-related provisions in M&A transactions is a plus. Should have strong drafting and negotiating skills, as well as strong communication and teamwork skills.
